A beautifully worn round bread board, shaped by years of honest use. Pieces like this once sat at the centre of the kitchen, used daily and built to last.
The surface carries all the character you’d hope for. Deep knife marks, rich tonal variations, and that soft, timeworn patina that only comes from years of preparation and serving. The rounded shape gives it a slightly more sculptural feel, while the small handle detail makes it easy to hang or lean as part of a layered display.
Although often styled decoratively today, these antique bread boards are absolutely still functional and food-safe when cared for properly. If you’d like to use it, we recommend treating the surface with a food-safe oil such as olive oil, linseed oil (food-safe/raw), or mineral oil. This helps to nourish the wood, bring out the natural grain, and create a protective barrier.
A simple care routine goes a long way. Lightly clean with a damp cloth, allow it to dry fully, then apply a small amount of oil with a soft cloth. Let it soak in and wipe away any excess. Repeating this occasionally will keep the wood hydrated and looking its best.
Whether used or simply admired, it’s one of those pieces that brings warmth, texture, and a sense of history into a space. Quietly beautiful and made to be kept.
