A traditional Hungarian folk pottery watering jug, handmade from terracotta and finished with a distinctive dark-glazed neck and handle. These jugs were commonly used throughout rural Hungary for carrying and pouring water, and each piece was formed individually, giving it its warm, rustic character.

This example shows classic features of early–mid 20th century Hungarian village ceramics: wheel-thrown body, applied handle with organic shaping, and natural glaze variation from the wood-fired kiln. The dark green–black glaze around the neck and handle is typical of utilitarian jugs from the region, where potters reinforced areas that received the most handling.
