Diameter: approx. 21 cm
Marking: KAPOSVÁR – GYÁRIPAR

This beautifully weathered terracotta piece is the top part of a traditional Hungarian chicken feeder, the sort used in rural farms and smallholdings right through the early–mid 20th century. The central opening was used to refill the feed, while the surrounding holes allowed chicks to peck through without wasting or scattering the grains.

Made in Kaposvár and stamped on the base with KAPOSVÁR – GYÁRIPAR, it carries that honest industrial folk charm the region is known for. The clay has worn into warm pink and stone tones, with age marks that tell its whole countryside story, dusty barns, warm seasons, and generations of use.

These feeder tops have become highly decorative pieces, loved for their sculptural shape and authentic farmstead character. They sit beautifully on shelves, kitchen counters, garden walls, or hung as rustic wall décor.
